The City of Angels

All my life, I've always lived just outside Los Angeles. I was always about a 20-minute drive to the downtown area (which is what's usually portrayed in media). As a child, I went reluctantly - my parents would buy fancy perfumes/colognes/jewelry and sell them in the small towns we lived by. As a kid, I wasn't so aware of what was around me. I was often bored since I couldn't go off and explore and such (such is life of a kid in the 90's). As an adult, I made a string of excuses as to why I didn't visit the city - "I don't know how to get there; It's too far; I don't have any time/money; I have no reason to go..." Well, you get the idea. 

In another class (different from the one with the pretty lady), I was tasked to visit the downtown area: to survey the land (and how the land is used) and to take note of some of the history of LA and some of the currently existing landmarks in the city (I learned that some were demolished for more modern buildings). So, I had to go (this assignment is worth about 10% of my total grade! It's one of the bigger ones). 

So let me give you the TL;DR version of my trip (Too Long; Didn't Read - you can thank Reddit for that):

1) Everything's pretty packed together - you can see just about everything that's in LA in about 3-4 hours. Now exploring Los Angeles...that's a lifetime.

2) John Parkinson - the influential architect that helped shaped Los Angeles to be the magnificent metropolis that it is today. 

3) It's pretty awesome and interesting how we can just walk inside some of the buildings (like the Bradbury Building and Biltmore Hotel), but others are closed off to the public.

A Small R&R

Finally, after this past month and a half, I can actually write for my personal delight again! I spent all this time researching, outlining, and then madly writing two separate term papers - one as a class assignment and the other as a sign of things to come (it was a mock literature review designed to prepare us for the lengthy research process of our undergrad Senior Thesis). Now that both of these assignments are complete (and awaiting corrections/revisions by my professors), I can finally rest easy for this week (before I'll have to adjust my paper to reflect the evaluations my professors will impose upon me).

Unfortunately, this small break from my demanding school schedule is simply insufficient. I'm burned out from almost a whole straight year of juggling work and school, and how I'm holding up is beyond me. I'm afraid of how this Spring will end - I fear this will be my weakest semester thus far in my stay at this university. I know more there is more to life than good grades, but sometimes I forget that, and I end up placing a great deal of value upon a simple 5-letter grading system.

Anyhow, I hope to resumify my writing soon - there are things that I want to write about and try new experiences, hoping for positive feedback and results (more on these later, of course). For now, it's sufficient to say that I'm trying to be mindful to write more, for my sake. Until next, fellow readers!

Da Octopusss and Musical Vibrators

Da Octopusss is back!!!

Well, not entirely. They've been releasing new material recently and, in short, I'm really excited! While it's still the same noisy eargasm as their eponymous debut album, their latest singles, Evilminded and GOATS, show the pair going into new directions and experimenting with their very distinct sound quite excellently. It's very promising and other fans of the duo are also agreeing with opinions such as mine. Obviously, Da Octopusss is hinting at another album (or at the least, an EP), but whatever plans they have, I can't wait to see (or rather, hear) what they have in store for us. Unfortunately, their latest single can't be embedded nor can they be found on YouTube, so I'll post links to their respective web pages over at their SoundCloud account:

Speaking of music and "-gasms", friends a whiles back mentioned that there are vibrators that can vary in their intensity, based on the music that is playing at the time of its usage. To which I initially thought as preposterous - after all, such a thing only belongs in a Sci-Fi erotica novel...right? After some *cough cough* "research" *cough cough* (if it can even be called that - thank you, science!), it turns out, they do exist (clicking on here WILL take you there...so yeah...ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK)! Boggles my mind that they really do. Also, it's obviously an 18+ site, so there will be damages technological, psychological, and otherwise (yadda-yadda-yadda...). You have been warned - and I'm talking to you, kid (that fake ID isn't foolin' anybody)! 

So why am I bringing this up? 

1. If you happen have one of those "musical vibrators" and you stumbled across my this post - you're welcome!

3. I am testing the waters here to see if I can get a reaction of sorts (hey, just being honest here). Thank you for your reaction (whatever it may be) - It's good to know that I'm getting some attention (although, this wouldn't be the kind of attention I want to attract constantly).
