A Small R&R

Finally, after this past month and a half, I can actually write for my personal delight again! I spent all this time researching, outlining, and then madly writing two separate term papers - one as a class assignment and the other as a sign of things to come (it was a mock literature review designed to prepare us for the lengthy research process of our undergrad Senior Thesis). Now that both of these assignments are complete (and awaiting corrections/revisions by my professors), I can finally rest easy for this week (before I'll have to adjust my paper to reflect the evaluations my professors will impose upon me).

Unfortunately, this small break from my demanding school schedule is simply insufficient. I'm burned out from almost a whole straight year of juggling work and school, and how I'm holding up is beyond me. I'm afraid of how this Spring will end - I fear this will be my weakest semester thus far in my stay at this university. I know more there is more to life than good grades, but sometimes I forget that, and I end up placing a great deal of value upon a simple 5-letter grading system.

Anyhow, I hope to resumify my writing soon - there are things that I want to write about and try new experiences, hoping for positive feedback and results (more on these later, of course). For now, it's sufficient to say that I'm trying to be mindful to write more, for my sake. Until next, fellow readers!

Status Quo

I'd be flat-out lying if I said that I have nothing to say. I do, but I haven't been inspired, so to say, to really write anything new. So here I am, writing one of the few blogs where I rabble on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on and on and on and on...

...Sorry, I spaced out. What was I saying? Oh yes. I'm not at all enthusiastic to write anything thoughtful or reflective today. Perhaps all that I can say, for now, is that I've been diligently reading from my reading list, but it feels like I'm trying to swim upstream (that is, it's difficult to make some progress) at the moment.

Maybe all I just need is a good night's rest for now.

Day Off Tomorrow

Finally, after some lengthy weeks (and extensive hours), I finally have a day off. Although, if I could gripe about this, I'd like to have a whole week off, considering all the time I have sort of have lost due to losing one co-worker and training two others. If I had a whole week to myself, what would I do? I haven't thought that far ahead as far as time off. However, I do have somethings tomorrow planned namely:

  • Begin the first day of my training regimen (I know where I stand health-wise and I have set up some personal goals - more on that later).
  • See my mechanic (my car needs a new engine mount, transmission mount, air filter, and a new spark plug - nothing too demanding, I hope)
  • Spend time with my family (watch Pacific Rim, if it's still in theaters, or Elysium, since it was just released this weekend).
  • Have dinner with my dad (I miss that man).
  • Go on a hike with my best friend (he's been inviting me I feel bad for not going along - tomorrow, I'll make it up to him).
Of course, there some other things to do, like catch up on my YouTube channels, knock off a few items off my Netflix queue, and do some gaming/errands (not in that order), but they are not as important as the other things that I have mentioned earlier. Tomorrow's gonna be a great (but busy) Sunday.
